Occupational therapist Agnese Gavare starts the appointment at the MFD Outpatient hospital “Iļģuciems”.


Occupational therapy is one of the areas of rehabilitation that contributes to the involvement of a person in important daily activities, thereby contributing to independence, health and well-being in any conditions of life.

The main task of an occupational therapist is to help acquire / restore skills that allow the client to be independent in their daily activities, which are divided into:

Production activity - this can be study, paid work, etc .;

  • Leisure activities - hobbies, sports (physical activity), creativity, etc.

An occupational therapist works with people of all ages. People with movement disorders, head injuries, fractures, peripheral nerve damage, polytrauma, neurological and rheumatic conditions, mental illness, or people who need advice on accessing the environment, applying ergonomic principles in the work environment or in daily life may seek advice from occupational therapists.
