June 6, 2011 – On this Saturday, June 11, several companies will join for a charity procession in support of breast health.
Breast cancer has become a very widespread disease even among young women. That is why society must be informed – detected at an early stage it can be successfully treated.
Health Payment Center regularly sends invitation letters to women in order to provide them with an opportunity to have a free of charge mammography. However, only few of them take this chance. This medical examination is only 15 minutes long, what is negligibly small comparing with many happy years of living the woman receives back.
Every day the doctors of MFD Healthcare Group encounter many cases of neglected cancer. The aim of participation in this event is to inform the society about the advantage of timely diagnosis. In cooperation with Woman's health centers "Vita", MFD Healthcare Group will offer consultations about self-examination and the first symptoms to seek for doctors’ help and diagnosis.
In collaboration with Arbor Medical Korporacija Ltd., the official distributor of Philips medical equipment in Latvia, a presentation of ultrasonography equipment will take place. Everyone will have a chance to watch how the examination is being performed using a special mannequin, and to receive answers to questions about breast health, contemporary diagnosis opportunities, and Computer Aided Detection system (CAD), which is designed to detect the smallest malformations at its early stage.
Additionally during all the day there will be an opportunity to take a breast health knowledge test and to get small prizes for the right answers.
Participants of the processions will gather near the Riga Congress House at 2.00 pm. At 3.00 pm the procession will move to Arena Riga to watch a concert of popular Latvian musicians and a charity basketball game between Latvia and Slovakia.
