September 28, 2011 – MFD Outpatient Hospital „Pardaugava” (Riga, Vienibas gatve 109) has hired two new specialists – qualified audiologopedists.
Audiologopedist is a specialist with medical education, who implements evaluation, diagnosis, correction and rehabilitation of various disorders of communication skills, speech, swallowing and phonation for people of all ages. Audiologopedist conducts research, evaluation, counseling and speech rehabilitation for people with impaired hearing and vision, disorders of throat functions, articulation, tempo / rhythm, voice and other speech neurological disorders.
MFD Outpatient Hospital “Pardaugava” offers for children:
Micrologopedy – early age speech therapy, which involves working with children since their birth, helping to solve problems such as sucking and swallowing disorders.
Pre-school logopedy – working with children from 3 – 6 years;
School logopedy - offers correction of pronunciation, and treatment of writing and speech disorders for children from 1st – 4th grade.
For adults are offered:
rehabilitation and improvement of speech after a stroke or head injuries;
correction of speech tempo / rhythm;
correction of voice and swallowing disorders.
Audiologopedists of the MFD Outpatient Hospital “Pardaugava” Olesja Bakanova and Jana Tsimashkevich draw up the individual program for each client. Disorders are evaluated by taking into account opinions of several specialists e.g. neurologist, psychologist, psychiatrist, physiotherapist, etc.
The first consultation costs 14.00 Ls, repeated – 10.00 Ls.
