November 29, 2011 – On the 1st of December, in the context of the World AIDS Day, MFD Outpatient Hospital “Dziednieciba” (15 Rusonu Street, Riga) offers those, who have doubts about possible contamination, to have a human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) blood test.
Every year December 1 is the World AIDS Day; when different
activities are happening all over the world in order to raise awareness of
danger of the disease.
According to the data of the Infectology Center of Latvia, the total number of
people infected with HIV in Latvia has reached 5,100. This year there have been
registered 212 new cases of HIV infection. 22 people died in the HIV stage, 43
died in the AIDS stage. The biggest group of patients is between 21 and 29 years
old, there are 2373 people. 1897 people are between 30 and 49, and 184 are above
50.
As it is important to start treatment early, timely diagnosis is crucial.
That is why MFD Outpatient Hospital “Dziednieciba”, 15 Rusonu Street, Riga, will provide free of charge HIV blood tests. Time: 1 pm – 6 pm, room 311.
Doctor's referral is not required. MFD guarantees confidentiality of the test results for each patient.
On the other days laboratory services and qualified doctors as well are available at the MFD Outpatient Hospital “Pardaugava”, Vienibas gatve 109, Riga.
