November 2, 2012 – Starting from November, medical
taping is available at the Outpatient hospital „Mozums-1” conducted by doctor
traumatologist - orthopedist.
Medical taping is applying of the medical tape according to the anatomical and
functional characteristics of the human body. The elasticity of the tape in
relation to the elasticity of the skin is used to create a lifting effect on the
epidermis. Thus more space is created in the area where all kinds of receptors,
blood and lymph vessels are located. This leads to a natural recovery.
The tapes used are made of 100% cotton and coated with hypoallergenic glue,
which is activated at body temperature. It has about the same elasticity and
thickness as the human skin. Cotton allows skin to breathe, so medical tapes can
be worn for up to 5 days.
The basis for the medical taping concept was laid in Japan and Korea in the
seventies. Initially it was used in the treatment and rehabilitation of
professional athletes, as an alternative to painkillers.
Nowadays medical taping is used in many medical areas:
• back problems (e.g. - scoliosis, spondylosis, disc protrusion);
• diseases of the joints;
• osteoporosis;
• arthrosis;
• asthma;
• swelling and bruising;
• reduction of inflammation and prevention of scars;
• chronic and acute pain;
• post-traumatic and post-operative care;
• etc.
If traditional treatment methods of these diseases don’t bring the expected
results, medical taping could help activating the natural ability of the human
body to self-healing.
Medical taping is available at the Outpatient hospital „Mozums-1”, Bruninieku
Str. 8, phone number 67273435,
