Q: I do not have e-mail address at the moment. What should I do?
A: You may open FREE E-mail account at http://www.hotmail.com or http://www.mail.lv. Just fill in their registration form – that’s all!
Q: I want to ask questions absolutely anonymously. I do not want you to know my e-mail address. Any solution?
A: We do respect you privacy and anonymity. You may open FREE E-mail account at http://www.hotmail.com and use it as your e-mail address – you will be completely anonymous.
Q: I would like to reply to E-Doctor! May I send him a letter to e-doctor@mfd.lv?
A: No. You will not get the answer! You should use E-Doctor’s query form and include all previous reference numbers of all questions on the same problem / case.
Q: I am not sure about the character set which is used on my computer. How can I find it out?
A: Asking questions you may use Windows 1251 (Russian) and Windows 1257 (Latvian) code tables only. Usually the majority of personal computers equipped with Microsoft Windows (3.xx, 95 and 98) operating system use the code tables mentioned above. You may check it in Keyboard Properties under the Language section: Russian (not KOI8!) or Latvian should be mentioned there. Anyway – if you are not sure use only Latin characters.
Q: I want to use only Latin (English alphabet) characters to ask a question in either Latvian or Russian. What should I type in?
A: Latvian: type the question in Latvian and omit long and soft signs or use
‘ after a long or soft letter. For example: “Jautajumu jaraksta ieprieks
izveletaja valoda” or “Jauta’jumu ja’raksta ieprieks’
izve’le’taja’ valoda’”
Russian: type the transcription (how you pronounce the word) of the words. For
example: “Vopros nuzhno zadavatj na zaranee vibrannom jazike”
Q: Will I receive the answer in the same language I have asked the question?
A: Yes, you will. The answer will be written in Russian or Latvian using Windows code tables. To make sure you can read the message we will attach Latin transliteration of the letter.
Q: I want to ask the question – but I have got the following message: “The number of questions allowed to be asked per one day is reached the limit…”
A: Sorry, the day limit is reached – no more questions can be asked today. Please visit E-Doctor’s office next day to ask him a question!
Q: I want to ask a question – but I have got the following message: “Sorry, you do not seem to be from Latvia…”
A: Your IP address is not considered as a Latvian one or is not known to be Latvian. We are sorry, but due to huge number of questions we may restrict access to the query form for users outside Latvia. Thus all foreign users or users of unknown IP addresses are not allowed to ask questions. If you are from Latvia – write a letter with your IP address (it’s written on the screen) to webmaster – we will fix the problem immediately!
Q: I want to ask a question – but I have got the following message: “Sorry, the access to the query form is forbidden for your IP address…”
A: Sorry, you are in the ban list because of E-Doctor’s rules and policy violation. If it is not true – please write a letter with your IP address (it’s written on the screen) to webmaster – we will fix the problem as soon as possible!
Q: I want to ask a question – but I have got the following message: “Sorry, only X questions per one IP address are allowed for one day…”
A: Sorry, there is a limit of questions number asked by one person (one IP address) per day – come back next day to ask more questions! If you have not asked questions today yet – please write a letter with your IP address (it’s written on the screen) to webmaster – we will fix the problem as soon as possible!
