At the MFD Outpatient hospital «Ilguciems» is available new service – cystoscopy with flexible fiberoptic endoscope!
Cystoscopy with flexible fiberoptic endoscope (uroendoscopy of the lower urinary tract) – examination in which is examined urethra and bladder with an elastic, optical instrument with a light source. This is a very important examination, which also determines the condition of the bladder lining and muscle and diagnoses even the very early bladder tumors, as well as performs various curative manipulations. The examination is carried out with local anesthetic.
Indications for examination:
- hematuria;
- suspected formation in the lower urinary tract;
- control after bladder tumor resection;
- suspected bladder fistula;
- changes in urinary cytology;
- chronic pelvic pain / interstitial cystitis;
- recurrent urinary tract infections, etc.
Examination is not conducted in the case of acute bladder inflammation (cystitis).
