Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)
Gastroscopy is informative investigative method of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum that is meant for both the diagnosis and the treatment (to stop bleeding, removal of foreign bodies, polyp removal, etc.). With gastroscopy it is possible to assess the state of the gastric mucosa, as well as pick up the material for further investigation.
Some of the warning signals that indicate the need for the stomach - intestinal tract in-depth investigation is weight loss, chronic abdominal pain or gastrointestinal tract, chronic pain changes, bleeding, anemia, jaundice, appetite disorders, general weakness and persistent fatigue. Regular gastroscopy is recommended for people who have blood relatives with a history of gastric cancer, and have any symptoms of the disease.
