Dermatologist consultations for children and newborns!
Dermatologist, venereologist Inga Mētra, invites the smallest patients (newborns and infants) to consultations at the MFD Outpatient hospital "Pārdaugava".
The consultation includes a conversation with the parents, an examination of the child and an evaluation of the analyses. Additional analyses, specialist consultations or examinations may be prescribed.
The consultation can include the following:
- Diagnosis and treatment of allergic skin diseases
- Diagnosis, treatment and prevention of acute and chronic skin diseases
- Diagnosis of skin diseases and formations (optical dermatoscopy, skin biopsy, cytology)
- Diagnosis and treatment of fungal diseases of the skin and nails, and recommendations for prevention will be provided
- Diagnosis and treatment of viral and bacterial skin diseases
- Diagnosis and treatment of allergic skin diseases
- If there are complaints about nail changes, the nails are trimmed or scraped, and the material is sent to the laboratory for examination.
If an additional examination is required to more accurately assess the nature of the inflammation, especially for non-pigment formations, an optical dermatoscopy is performed - examination with a manual luminescent light at 10x magnification.
From lesions in the mucous membranes, in order to be able to determine the nature of inflammation, the doctor will take the material with a cotton swab for examination for microflora, if necessary.
