Novelty at the Outpatient hospital «Mozums-1» – Endoscopy cabinet

From 2016, 8 December at the Outpatient hospital «Mozums-1» work begins Endoscopy cabinet, where gastroscopy and colonoscopy examinations with local anesthesia will be available.
Examinations will be carried out by endoscopy specialist Galina Cui.
Gastroscopy examinations are necessary if the patient has a complaint:
- for swallowing problems;
- for pain and burning sensation in the stomach;
- pain in the upper abdomen;
- vomiting with blood;
- if there is a suspicion of ulcers;
- to clarify the risk of developing cancer;
- after ulcer treatment;
- if the family relatives have had cancer of the stomach;
- if the patient has iron deficiency anemia, which gives rise to suspicion of a possible bleeding in the stomach.

Colonoscopy is necessary for patients with:
- bowel disorders – chronic constipation or frequent diarrhea, especially in the elderly;
- stool with blood;
- constant bloating;
- abdominal pain in the lower part;
- if in a family history is found a colon cancer cases.
Colonoscopy helps to diagnose hemorrhoids, polyps, evaluate risk factors for intestinal tumor development, etc.
