„Days of the heart 2014”

At the end of September, within the „Days of the heart 2014” MFD Healthcare Group invited men to make sure that their heart is healthy. The aim of the campaign was to draw attention of men in Latvia to the health of the heart and blood vessels and to invite to check health condition at least once a year. The target audience was 30-50 years old men. The representatives of this age group are busy persons, who are included in one of the groups of risk, for example, smoke, suffer from excessive weight, high blood pressure, shortness of breath, and have a sedentary lifestyle. Within the campaign MFD Healthcare Group offered men to undergo a heart health check-up free of charge, by undergoing veloergometry or echocardiography tests at one of the MFD Healthcare Group outpatient hospitals. The tests were performed by highly experienced cardiologists – the MFD Cardiocentre doctors – Ilona Hvoscinska and Oleg Orlov, MFD Outpatient hospital „Ilguciems’’ doctors – Vladimir Lavrentjev, Irina Viksne, Ivars Vaskis and Outpatient hospital „Mozums-1’’ doctor Agnese Krallisa.
The responsiveness on the campaign was great and free spaces filled up fast. 52 men participated in that campaign, 17 of them underwent veloergometry tests and 44 underwent echocardiography tests. The problems were not observed for the majority of the men, although in some cases the high risk was detected, it means that those patients must draw extra attention to the health of the heart.
In reaction of the high responsiveness and interest from women, the similar campaign for women will be planned soon.
