Onkologist Sarmite Baltkaje has recieved the award for lifelong contribution to medicine

February 12 this year at a ceremony in the palace of culture «Ziemelblazma» Latvian Medical Association presented the «Annual Prize in medicine 2015», under which the award for lifelong contribution to medicine also received the oncologist Sarmite Baltkaje!
Sarmite Baltkaje in her lifetime has carried out several thousand cancer surgeries. She carried out surgeries all over the country and has worked with all types of cancer. Up to January this year she worked in Riga Eastern Clinical University hospital, Latvian Oncology center. Sarmite Baltkaje has not only treated breast cancer, but also overcame this disease herself and is actively involved in public and patient education, inviting everyone to protect their health and have timely health check.
