Press release
25 April 2017
By Ministry of Health implemented reduction of tariffs for radiology examinations from 1 April has already led to the first negative effects – in order to avoid a significant reduction in pay, radiologists and radiologist assistants massively refuse providing state funded services. Thus, for population will be significantly reduced state funded radiology examination availability and they more often will have to bear the examination costs themselves. In the long term it will lead to the Latvian citizen health deterioration due to the increased queues and therefore examinations because of limited solvency of the population will not be taken on time.
